Our House Swap is a FREE service to facilitate contact between existing Public Housing tenants.

There are two ways you can find your new home. Firstly you can list your house here and a separate page will be generated displaying all your details. Unlike a newspaper ad, your details will be displayed 24 hours a day, week in, week out so that you don't miss out on potential "hits". You do not need to have an email address or even own a computer. Your privacy is assured as only your phone number or email address (not your name) will be listed and, just like with newspaper ads, the interested swapper will ring you directly. This is the most successful and quickest way to find yourself a new home.

Secondly you can search the database of ads for the area you desire and a list of all the available places will be displayed. You then find the one that suits your needs and using the phone number or email address of that person, you contact them directly. Remember though, if you are really keen to swap it is better to list your place as well as doing a search.

There is no cost to search the site for a compatible swap. When you have made contact, it is then up to you and the other party to arrange all the other details with the Dept of Housing in your state.

If you would like to list your home to maximise your potential then all you have to do is fill in the form on the List my Place page.

LISTING YOUR HOUSE IS FREE !

Your advertisment will remain on the site until you ask for it to be deleted. (If you have immediate success after one week and have found your swap, and don't want any more phone calls-you can contact us here and we can remove your ad at any time.)

The details of your home and your phone number and/or email address will be immediately listed on the search page for others to see. All other personal details will remain strictly private.

SUCCESS STORIES

What a brilliant and innovative idea. I had wanted to move to Sydney for many months and had no success with the "official channels"and had spent a lot of money on newspaper advertisements. Within one month of listing my house I had a hit. I now have a lovely terrace house in the inner city and I have never been happier. The quality of my live has improved hugely. Thank you Our House Swap. JK

Because of your wonderful site, my mum has swapped her house. She is now living close to me and is very happy with her new home. DP

Brilliant site !!! All it took was 4 phone calls ! Thankyou. LC

Why can't the Dept of Housing work in such an easy and efficient manner? I am still waiting to be contacted through "official" channels, meanwhile I have to choose between three different offers from your website. OM

I listed on the 'Our House Swap' internet site hoping to swap to a house, but not being too optimistic about the chances of someone wishing to give up a house for a townhouse. I knew I would probably have to accept something not as modern as my place, but I was willing to do this if my five year old could have a large enough yard to play in. Six months later, a new paint job, some major cleaning and rubbish removal and lots of hard work and I am happy that I made the move. I would recommend anyone give it a try and never give up hope of swapping to something that is going to make you and your family happier and healthier. CR.

Thankyou very much for this site, I have successfully swapped my 3 b.r. duplex for a smaller easier to manage 2 b.r. free standing unit in a complex & couldn't be happier. The people I swapped with are equally happy. A tip for those who swap...we each emptied our garages first & moved some stuff ourselves (saved us a fortune) We worked together & allowed each other access to our yards & we moved most of the garden stuff over as well in the 2 weeks prior to the move. It made moving day so much easier. Again thanx a bunch. AL

After all - it is supposed to be a TENANT newsletter.
